METARHIZIUM
METARHIZIUM ANISOPLIAE
META (Metarhizium anisopliae) is a species of entomopathogenic fungus widely used as a biological control agent for insect pests. It belongs to the fungal order Hypocreales and the family Clavicipitaceae and is adapted to survive in diverse environmental conditions. It can persist in soil, leaf surfaces, and other habitats, awaiting contact with suitable host insects, and has the ability to infect and kill a wide range of insect species. As an entomopathogenic fungus, it specifically targets and infects insects by penetrating their cuticle (outer covering) and invading their body cavity.
